Introduced to the world in 1985, the T-80 BV battle tank is equipped with special Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) blocks that protect the vehicle's bow as well as its sides and turret. When a tank is hit by a HEAT projectile (anti-tank, high-explosive projectile), the relevant ERA block explodes, minimizing the penetration of the projectile through the shell and overall damage to the car. In addition to the more common types of ammunition, the 125 mm main cannon 2A46 can also launch special 9M112 Cobra (AT-8) missiles. NSVT 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun on the command dome serves as an effective defense against air attacks. The 12.5-ton monster is powered by a gas turbine delivering 1,050 horsepower. It can move the whole colossus up to a maximum speed of 80 km / h.
