The Boeing Stearman PT-17 Kaydet was an American mixed-purpose biplane with a fixed spur chassis, used to train pilots in World War II.

In 1939, the most widespread A75N1 model was created. It differed from the PT-13 by the installation of a seven-cylinder star engine Continental R-670-4, or -5 and the necessary changes in installations. A total of 2942 pieces were ordered for the USAAC, the deliveries of which ended in January 1943. The first variant was the PT-17, followed by night modifications PT-17A, special powder PT-17B and PT-17C.

Kaydets served in virtually all US pilot schools in the Navy and Army. The PT-17 and PT-13 USAAF (later USAF) were eliminated only in the late 1940s, the US Navy a little later.
