The "Phantom Pharewell" era ended on June 29, 2013 in Wittmundhafen, which began on May 18, 1973 with the first official flight of the F-4F 37 + 01. The Phantom 37 + 01 was the first and only F-4F to be produced entirely in the United States. It entered service in the German city of Jever on July 26, 1974. After a long period at JaboG (fighter bomber wing) 36 in Rheine-Hopsten, it also served at JG (fighter wing) 74 and JG 72. At JG 71 "Richthofen", this aircraft was in service since the summer of 2008 and now, with 7,400 hours of flying, it has received a well-deserved rest, and its admirers can only see it as a dysfunctional outdoor monument.
