Template information:

De Havilland Vampire was a jet twin-engine aircraft, which was usually used in the roles of fighter and fighter bombers. The vampire was a relatively straightforward aircraft that used only manually controlled flight control, no radar, no simple kite aircraft, and used mostly conventional procedures and technologies in addition to the propulsion system. The distinctive configuration of the vampire's double boom tail was one of the few non-traditional features of the kite compared to its contemporaries. Compared to later aircraft, the vampire had a relatively cluttered cockpit, which in some respects lacked ergonomic measures; eg fuel gauges, which are difficult for the pilot to follow without pulling the steering column back.

Vampire III was the first of several models that sought to address the demands of greater scale. Additional fuel tanks with a capacity of 100 and 200 gallons were installed. Other modifications included reducing the tail area and reshaping the vertical surfaces of the tail. The wing has been substantially modified to improve performance at low altitudes, reducing the span by 2 feet.
