Piasecki H-21 Workhorse / Shawnee is an American helicopter, the fourth in a series of tandem rotor helicopters designed and built by Piasecki Helicopter (later Boeing Vertol). Commonly called a "flying banana," it was a multi-mission helicopter using bikes, skis, or floats.

The H-21 was originally developed by Piasecki as an Arctic rescue helicopter. The H-21 had wintering capabilities to operate at temperatures down to -54 ° C and could normally be maintained in harsh cold weather.

H-21 Shawnee is known for its nickname "flying banana", which comes from a specific rear curved fuselage. The fuselage designed in this original way allowed the adoption of two powerful rotors with large propellers. Thanks to two rotors and a robust aerodynamic design, the H-21 has become a real horse capable of performing even the most demanding transport tasks in an often difficult environment.
