In 2000, Audi, in collaboration with Porsche, introduced the successor to its Audi RS2 Avant - the powerful Audi RS4 family estate. A 2.7 V6 Biturbo 195 kW Group engine was used for the RS4 version. To increase engine performance, larger turbochargers and intercoolers, redesigned cylinder heads, new exhaust pipes and improved engine electronics were fitted to this engine. As a result of these changes, engine power rose to 280 kW. Power transmission as the previous version provided only 6 st. Quattro manual transmission and permanent all-wheel drive.
After a long break, Audi introduced the RS4 Sedan in the summer of 2005. A year later, the RS4 Avant and RS4 Cabriolet were released. In the interior, the RS4 version differed from the standard A4 B7 model mainly in the wider calibrated tachometer, the cut-off sports steering wheel on the underside and the high-quality Recaro shell seats. With the introduction of the 4.2 V8 engine, Audi has entered the 309 kW high-speed engine for its RS models for the first time.
